Frankie

Frankie is now (January 2011) 20 months old and was given to me at 16 months as a companion for Maurice when we sold my husband Andy’s horse, as he doesn’t ride much anymore.

Frankie is an orphan and the idea was that we’d simply turn him out for a year and just let Maurice teach him about being a horse. Ha. Ha.  That didn’t work, and it quickly became apparent that Frankie was not going to be safe to be around unless we started some basic training.

So this blog will probably mainly be a training diary for Frankie.  I’ve never trained a horse before, let alone a young one, let alone a playful orphan colt. Right now I’m reading a lot of clicker training books!
